摘 要:英语谚语是英美国家语言的精华,它反映和传承着英美国家独特的文化。本文从英语谚语的结构、内容、音韵入手,通过研究发现英语谚语有着结构简练、寓意深刻、音韵和谐等特点,针对其特点在英语谚语的翻译中应采用直译法、意译法、直译和意译结合法、注解法等方法,才能更好地进行英语谚语的翻译。

On the Translation of English Proverbs
Abstract:English proverbs, which reflect and pass on Anglo-American unique culture, are the essence of Anglo-American languages. This paper starts with the study of the structure, content and sound effect of English proverbs. Based on characteristics of English proverbs, such as simple structure, profound meaning, harmonious sound effect, this paper sets forth methods of literal translation, free translation, the combination of literal translation and free translation, literal translation with further explanation and so on to be applied in the translation of English proverbs.
