Since the concept of thestructural control in civil engineering was first proposedby Yao [1] in 1972, this field has made a great progressfrom theory to practice. To date, many newly developedcontrol methods and energy dissipating devices havebeen applied to enhance the performance of structuresunder ground acceleration excitations.The normal friction damper is a typical passive deviceused in an energy dissipation system and is widely usedin civil engineering for vibration suppression for seismicstructures [2,3].
