摘 要：世界上任何语言都是植根于特定的文化背景之中，反映着特定的文化内容。语言是文化的一部分，同时又是文化的载体，语言与文化密不可分。不同语言中的词汇反映了不同文化发展的差异。由于中西方的文化差异，动物被赋予的各种内涵都具有浓厚的民族文化特色。本文分析了中西方语言中有关动物的词汇并透析出文化对词汇的影响，也生动地揭示出了中西不同文化间的差异，同时有助于英语学习者更好地进行跨文化交际。

Analysis on the Differences ofChinese and Western Culture from Animal Words
Abstract: Any language in the world is rooted in a given cultural background and is a reflection of a specific cultural content. Language is the part of the culture, and is also the carrier of culture. So language and culture are inseparable. Words in different languages reflect the cultural differences in the development of different cultures. Because of the differences between Chinese and western cultures, the animal words were given a variety of connotations which have strong national cultural characteristics. This paper not only analyzes the animal words in Chinese and Western language, but also dialyzes the impact of culture on vocabulary. Mean while it vividly reveals the differences between Chinese and Western cultures. So it would help English learners to make a better cross-cultural communication.
